hi David i see you got the traffic lights set like most UK lights lets 2/3 cars past then go back to red lol i am so in love with this map not done the 30 yet just the 36/31 thanks for the best map in the world i did take a wrong turn late last night and ended up and the x8 last stop thanks again
Other than for the very few people who know the real area and routes, the 'route helper' signs will be needed for quite some time for most people I'd guess. I know couldn't remember routes this long for a pretty long time! (... it helps when you've been familiar with these real world routes since 1981 though )
Remember that the routing is realistic enough that you might be able to follow it using the real world STAGECOACH NEWCASTLE route map:-
...bear in mind though that there is an ERROR oin the real route map! ... the '31' terminus shown on Whickham View is an error and buses to not terminate there... they all turn right and run up to Silver Lonnon.
Cheers, David

Hi Tom,
Yes, I found it, and you weren't going mad; it is an error. "Blue House" is missing from the Trip File for 30_Fawdon_Fenham. It's on IBIS and the overall timetable will work fine, but it's missing from the 'profile' of the trip file for this leg; the result of which is that it doesn't show up on the in-cab timetable.
Fixing it this afternoon and will either upload a quick patch, or wait until V2.
Cheers, Dave.

This patch corrects the issue where "Blue House" was not appearing on the in-cab timetable, when driving the route 30 from Fawdon to Fenham :-
Recommended for all Stagecoach Newcastle V1 users. However, not essential as will be included in the V2 release.

from montagu estate to fenham, at the stop kenton rd, no one got on, yet there was like 8 passengers at the bus stop, they could see I was a 31, and my destination very clearly. I see two 31's on my way to fenham too going the opposte way (within a few minutes) I do remember seeing two close to eachother in timetable selection (if thats any help?) Btw where st james park ?

St James Park is the largest stadium on your right, as you leave the City Centre (as a 36), and drive up Barrack Road.
In the map St. James Park is exactly where it's located in real life, however, visually, I really struggled to find appropriate objects to represent it with ..... so it's not a highlight of the map (by any stretch of hte imagination), but it's in the right place, which was the main aim

I beat you to this one Tom ........ I saw it last night ..... I'm at a loss to know why people aren't getting on at that stop; there's only one route running there, and only one TTP file that relates to it (for the 31).... So quite what those guys are waiting for escapes me!
.....I'm going to have a look at the 30's TTP file again, in case this bus stop has sneaked into that file by mistake ..... in which case those people are waiting for a 30 - and they'll have a long wait!

I think the timetable journey times may need shortening a bit david (maybe some of them be halved from 1min to 30 seconds or 2min to 1min etc)
and floating bus stop, it may not look like it from the picture, kinda hard to tell, but it was floating:

... thanks for spotting that Smiler. That must have definately have been one of the nights I was up til 2am!
It's supposed to be "Fenham Hall Drive", as the area is Fenham.
Will get it changed but as it's on the main map file I can't patch it, so will have to be corrected when V2 comes out.
@ Tom - The 2 x floating bus stops on Westage Rd, (and the sinking passengers at Gosforth High St) are all fixed now, but again as they're in the main map, I can't update until I release the full V2 installer.
The journey times may seem too relaxed in places (and at times) but at other times you'll need the 'slack' in those timings, to help you catch up!
cheers, Dave

Hi David!!
This map looks great! I can't wait to try it out, but my OMSI has reach its activation limit
I appreciate all your maps, and this looks like it will be the most fun, as I love Stagecoach!! One question - does it come with the Stagecoach liveries? (Sorry if this has been asked before ) If not where can I find them - they do not seem to be in the Bus Mods section.
If it doesn't feel "weird" driving on the right in virtual Newcastle I might go back to making a real Edinburgh route! You have inspired me not to give up!!

David,
I have played this map, done a 5am-9.15am run, very well thought out. + 35-40 minute runs feel short like UK maps do, unlike some other runs in OMSI where 35 minutes feels like a week! + Everything is placed very well thought, as to real life as possible + Crossover between lines is sweet, rushour traffic in the city is exciting + Timetable is well balanced, you can set out from Montagu 3 minutes late and arrve at Fenham 3 minutes early because of catch up spaces so very well done on that + I love how Montagu estate is just behind the Depot! This is a ploy many bus companies use to make you feel like you have gone distance, yet you realise that Montagu is about 2 minutes away from Fenham! Legend! Could you build a road connector to Montagu from Depot for services running Dead?

Been away from OMSI for a few weeks and come back to find Newcastle released and Spandau Modern updated . Wonderful work David, love both of these maps, and you've really captured the feel of the City Centre.. One little criticism is that there are no parked cars. I'm guessing these may interfere with the AI traffic, but the streets look a little deserted without cars on the sides of the roads, they'd also add to the challenge!
I did note that despite several hours of driving, including the rush hour - no AI crashed into me. Northerners are definately more careful than the Berliners - who without fail, manage to prang my bus on a regular basis.
I'd really like to get those Stagecoach liveries running on the timetabled AI though, can anyone help? I've no idea how this is done.

Hi,
Other than in the 4 or 5 multi-stories and major car parks (like the one in the map at St.James/Gallowgate), there is almost no car parking available on the roads of Newcastle City Centre.
Cheers, David.

RE: Montagu Estate & Slatyford Proximity.
Iin the real world, Montagu Estate is nowhere near as close to Slatyford as appears when the map is looked at from a B.E.V (top down) perspective. Sometimes when you're building maps in OMSI you need to apply some quantum physics and bend the space/time continuum, to get things to fit! ..... and that was the case here.
On such a long road network (with so many turns) it's inevitable in OMSI that 'Point A' will head off completely in the right direction, but that due to exact road measurements being off a bit, eventually 'Point B' will not be at the exact distance or bearing from the real 'Point A'.
What I'm ultimately saying is theat the the route is designed to be very realistic with all the roads and turns of the real routes, and with their approximate lengths. However, the reality is designed to be perceived only from the ground level, and will not offer the same accuracy, under a 'Birds Eye View'. Thus, Montagu Estate's proximity to Slatyford in real life is not as it looks on the map.
Cheers, David.

(and as a bonus, I've added the forthcoming X82 route to the map )
