Does anyone know how to get the bus to say out of service on this route?
David just an idea on city centre terminus (newgate st) I think it would be good to add a layvover bay because when you are waiting to depart, you just hold up traffic.
thanks, tom
Just hit "Ziel" button and enter 105, and you have your "Sorry Not In Service".
Great for runs up to Slatyford Depot.

@ Joel:- Great pics! Newgate St was a right mess when they were building that Eldon Sq Extension... but it always seems eerily quiet down there now, for where it is!

Joel has given you the solution that applies in the real world Tom; you don't wait over at Newgate St. You need to arrive there at a time that allows you to pick up your new passengers and depart, without a delay.
If you're setting a tour up that starts at Newgate St, set the OMSI time to the departure time then pick up your passengers and get on your way.. If you're arriving at Newgate St (inbound) you'll have to use the St. James Boulevard-Westgate Rd-Grainger St loop to pace yourself for your arrival into Newgate St. Busy City Centre operations are challenging for bus drivers in the real world too ..... and sometimes buses do block traffic in Newcastle.
Also, we don't have the perfect roads splines yet in OMSI, so layover bays aren't provided too well, at least not with the road types required for this map.
David.

Progress this week is slightly slower than last week, because of non-OMSI (real life!) commitments and work.
But I'm still getting something done on the map every day
Current status is:-
General
- X82 road splines & intersections placed. - [Terminus], [Bus Stop] and [Route] entries for X82 added to HOF and tested. - Tracks & Trips placed (TTR & TTP files) - TTL (timetable) file completed. - AI is correctly driving the X82 route and displaying correct destinations
Scenery - completed
- Eldon Square Bus Station completed - Stanhope St completed - West Road completed, from General Hospital to Fox & Hounds.
Scenery - to do
- West Road, from Fox & Hounds to Lemington Road Ends - Hexham Road, from Lemington Road Ends to Throckley roundabout - Throckley loop (Newburn Rd, Leazes, Coach Road etc).
Thanks, David.

Sweet! Can't wait for the release. Take your time then again you are working on 2 separate maps, so I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

NEW! The first short preview of part of the X82 route.
This is only about 1/5 of the route but it shows some good interaction with the 36 route.
Please note, NO traffic lights have been placed yet on the specific X82 route sections, so there are lots of AI crashes in this video!
Thanks to Thiago, for the experimental engine sounds.
I remain a passionate member of this forum and continue to be dedicated to OMSI and producing addons for it to extend your enjoyment.
However being given our own forum was a great opportunity and will enable us to provide better support and updates management!
Thanks,

David how did you know how to create the routes so well? Have you had experience in the past with route building on other games? I want to create a Leicester route but the builder looks frigging complicated, I consider myself quite computer and gaming savvy, been playing games since I was about 4-5 but the route building looks too complex for me

Hi, I'm David (conductor at least)
David used to live in Newcastle so he has a good idea of the surroundings. During route buillding he also took several trips along the lines to make note of any small changes in the route and scenery.
X82 extension is due tommorow and you can find the link to download it on www.omsi-addons.co.uk or the links above in DavidR's post
Using the editor looks hard partially because it initialy is, however once you have learnt what most things do (how to load objects and road and then to rotate and place them), you can either build on those skills or even just create a pretty good map with just them.
