For quite a while, a recurring question has been: What are the system requirements for OMSI? Thus, we'd like to officially clarify the matter :-)
1) Minimum requirements The requirements already published by Aerosoft have accidentally been set too low, so here are the correct values:
Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7 CPU: 2,6 GHz RAM: 2 GB Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce® or ATI Radeon®, minimum 256 MB, DirectX 9.0c or higher HDD: 4 GB free space
Please note: On such a system, OMSI will only be playable with reduced graphic and AI settings. Smooth performance cannot be expected.
2) Recommended system requirements Much more interesting are our recommendations on a system on which OMSI can be played on high graphics quality and with a load of AI traffic. According to our present experience, we recommend as follows:
Operating system: Windows XP/Vista/7 CPU: AMD Phenom II® or Intel Core 2® or other Dual/Quad Core CPU, 3 GHz RAM: 4 GB Graphics: ATI HD 5700 series or equivalent NVIDIA model, DirectX 9.0c or higher
Please note as well: The recommended system specs are based on a well-balanced compromise between quality and performance and are approximate values. "All sliders maxed out" is something even today's top-class systems cannot cope with - and it's not reasonable anyway (gigantic traffic jams and drawing distances). The fine grading of our graphics and AI settings allows for a precise adjustment to the individual need.

Oh, c**p, my current system meets exact system req! So one question about min. sys. req.! Is that processor required dual-core or single? You didn't mention it... That's why I am buying a new computer soon! It will have sorta like this system req:
Operating system: Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit CPU: Intel C2Q 2.6GHz RAM: 6GB Graphics: NVidia (not sure what exactly) 1GB! . . . .
No doubt i can't run OMSI on high with this specs! (According to recommended sys requirements!)

Why only C2D? Get i3 or i5. Also i suggest GeForce 285 GTX or 480 GTX.

Thanks for the tip, I haven't bought the computer yet, I am still considering some components!

OMSI neither needs an multicore CPU nor is it exactly optimized for that. But of course a 2,6 GHz Quadcore will perform better than a 2,6 Ghz single core due to its improved processor architecture and such.

So the 2.6 GHZ figure is based on the Intel Pentium 4 Platform? I have a Intel Core 2 processor @ 2.33GHZ. i wonder if that below the requirements. Everything else listed, I seem to have meet the requirements.

Hard disk requirements added above ;-)
Concerning the given CPU frequency: It's really hard to give an accurate value nowadays because processor speed does not only depend on frequency anymore and a lower clocked multicore often performs better than a higher-clocked singlecore. Furthermore we have no chance to test all possible system configurations, but the minimum 2.6 GHz refer to a single core CPU. So a 2.33 GHz dual core should work as well (but yet, it's still on the lower end)

Desperate....? Oh man, I am more than desperate... There are no keys on the keyboard that could explain me right now.... and every hour is making me (us) more and more closer to OMSI !!! Oh, man 93 days to go...

2 comma 6 GHz?!?!?!?!?!?! ARE YOU MAKING FUN OUT OF YOURSELVES?
OK, Piotr, chill down.
Now, seriously. This is the first game of this kind that I ever saw to require 2,6GHz for good performance. I got a new laptop (though I expected this game not to be for laptops altogether) just 1 and a half months ago. This was a high upgrade anyway (1,8GHz -> 2,3GHz). But this isn't important right now. What I concluded (and I assume that many other people did as well) is that you are giving the game out, but only for a restricted group of people that will have a processor clocked at 2,6GHz or higher. AND THIS ISN'T FAIR! OK, maybe I can tune down on some options (myself I'd keep it down to AI buses and no other traffic - the perfect and ideal world) and yet it will be running at a reasonable fps rate. I really hoped that Astragon or whoever is selling that game is giving last requirements and that I'm only 0,1GHz away from this game, but this is a head- and processorshot! I only hope that a dual-core 2,3GHz will work as I am fitted with such. And I'm not getting the game legally!

I don't think GTAIV has a working driver's desk (or whatever you call it), does it? And all those animations? But, as I said, there is no way I'll be getting that legally.

to all, if you want play this game really well on hi-setts this is my opinion:
I watched on youtube video about Mafia 2 PsychX which used GTX 285 and GTX 480 in SLI. SO, if OMSI got HIGHER requirements than MAFIA 2 with PsychX On. then i suggest this configuration:
Core i7 3,4GHz Extreme with enabled TurboBoost or how ever its called. 4 gb DDR3 1600 MHz example Corsair Dominator GTX 285 + GTX 480 (Overclocking would be great support..) and Fast hardware 10000RPM example: Western Digital VelociRaptor WD1500HLFS
cost: ~ 2000 EUR + of course OMSI
With this configuration you can play now OMSI without any problems anyway i'll buy this game or maybe not... Why to lose money for DVD which won't be used in next 1 year? eh

Well, let me say this: You are absolute and complete fucking idiots, both of you.
I can't believe you actually have the nerve to come into a forum created by the developers of - let's face it, the ONLY bus simulator that will be available - and tell them that they're downloading a pirated copy of the game. I mean, come on. Marcel and Rudiger have been working for the past 2/3 years on this awesome simulator, and all you can say for their hard work is that you're going to get an illegal version of it? It's 30 €, that's pocket money where I live. And even if it were more, I'd gladly pay for it.
Besides, Marcel and Rudiger are making a game for a VERY SMALL niche of players. Very few people take interest in buses, let alone a full blown simulator about them. Now, if the whole community starts throwing a childish hissy fit over some computer requirements and decides to download the game, what kind of reward will the developers get for their hard work? A warm, fuzzy feeling in their stomachs because people like the game? That, unfortunatley, doesn't get you anywhere in the real world.
Besides, I am able to play Mafia 2 and similar games at decent FPS with my PC, and it's below the minimum required specs. So it'll probbably be the same story with OMSI. If it isn't, just decrease the settings or get a new CPU, which you can get for a very affordable price.
So, please, GROW UP.

Well I honestly must say we have never seen such a simulator quite like this before with extraordinary detai. Even with the simulated powertrain alone, i do not think even GT4/5 it self could replicate an automatic transmission? but I have to wonder what kind of computer does the developers have and did one of them recorded demo 4. demo 4 video, the sim seems to play extremely well, perhaps we would feel better that OMSI will not demand such an super computer as listed above which costs $2000.
As far as me buying the sim, that is a dumb question - of course I will I think the developers should be compensated for their work.
