Ashleys Noise Mods.....

Im looking into changing some sounds in omsi to make things feel closer to home
I have also changed the destination to a route by my house however it isnt intergrated into the map yet
First thing was a simple little mod on the SD202s where i changed the indicator noise to that off a Dennis Trident:

Here you go Jay, try these. Just extract these into C:\Program Files\m-r-software\Omsi\Vehicles\MAN_SD202\Sound

....... and then extract them again into C:\Program Files\m-r-software\Omsi\Vehicles\MAN_SD200\Sound (..for the SD200).

Not sure if these will be loud enough, or maybe too loud, so best make a back up of the originals first!

I got the same thing too, I also have sounds for the doors closing...

Nice updates, but how do you download the 2 files. When I click on the links it just plays the sound wave.

Maybe a sound when there is a bus stop call?

I quite like omsi default door noises although I would prefer air noises for the sd202s which im going to do next week I willing to have a look into changing most sounds so if anyone can think of what they think could do with a change I would be more than happy to look into it ash

Duh! thanks my friend

Here is my 2nd mod.
Rather than having the IBIS noise which none of my buses have near to where i live when pressing the ignition on, i have replaced it with a noise from an Enviro 400 which when turning the ignition says out loud "Fire System Pressure, OK."

Hi ash, you wouldn't have a link for the nxwm repaint you've got there as i live near you (somewhere ) and it'd be nice to use that on some of the routes i drive =]

I really like the "Fire System Pressure OK" sound file, but the indicator sound is quite possibly the most annoying, irritating sound I've ever heard!

I actually had to restart Omsi the other day but luckily i made the "Fire system pressure ok." sound again

Thanks mate for the upload i am loving the indicator and ibs sounds there GREAT i would love to hear the bus brake squeak more if you could get a bus brake squeak sound becuse in my area the wright bus they squeak but i haven't got any recording eqitment so the brake squeak could replace the current one So if you have or could get the bus brake squeak that would be brilliant

no problem for the IBIS replacement noise, our ticket machines dont make noise so i thought it better to have a noise that was more familiar like the enviro 400 noise for when the ECU checks the automatic fire extinguishing equipment when you first put the ignition on =D

I will look into the break noises, only thing is many buses hardly have this anymore
It was mainly when buses had drums that they had squeaky breaks. All the buses in my garage now have discs and pads all round for breaking

I will look into getting some better sounds for the handbrake and things like that because i know theres a few B10Ls at my work which dont have silencers on the quick release valves so should be able to get a nice loud air release noise

That would be great to get some B10L sounds as that is my local bus route and i always am on them so if you could get some sounds from them that would be great
