Mercedes-Benz O 305 Bus Stop Brake Noise

G'day all,

Those of you who have or had Mercedes-Benz O 305s operating in public service in your home town will instantly recognise this noise contained in the sound file that I am currently using as the Bus Stop Brake release noise for the MAN SD 200s in OMSI.

With hundreds of Mercedes-Benz O 305s and O 305 Gs back in the day, Perth (Western Australia) had the second largest fleet of these quality buses in Australia (behind Sydney). Having been around these buses throughout my childhood, one of the things that will never be forgotten is the sound that these buses made when the driver released the Bus Stop Brake. This sound has been recorded as close as possible to the source and is now yours to use in OMSI.

Hopefully an O 305 or O 305 G will be created in the future so that the sound can be used for its true purpose!

No idea what a Metropolitan is like, but I have a 1:76 model of one

As for the Atlantean, yes please a nice Lothian PDR or AN68 (probs and AN68 as they were similar to the Newcastle/South Shield/Some-Yellow-and-White-buses-I-can't-remember-the-place-but its-near-Newcastle) oh Tyne and Wear

The Northern England ones should appeal to you David! I do not mind so long as its got panoramic windows - then I can relive my childhood when Altanteans thundered along the streets of Edinburgh (1999 was a good year) I also miss (besides the Lynxes which were my favorite) the Alexander Olympians 666/667.

This is awesome! Just like the real thing. Now all we need is this type of bus modelled and driveable and ill be in heaven. Cheers mate good work. You working on any other sounds?

PBCNG and Myself will try to work on some New Sounds over time. My SD 202 Ignition Noise is now the same as a New CNG bus (20xx Units etc...)
