OFFICIAL ANSWER:

The minimum specs given in the manual are a MISTAKE. The specs on the Aerosoft product page are still the ones that count!

(But of course, it can't hurt to have such a system mentioned in the manual, for the official specs are the minimum technical requirements, i.e. OMSI will run but only with poor performance and/or low settings).

lol it is 2300 here on 18/02/2011 here in Sydney Australia so release will NOT be on the 18th for us

Everyones worried about system requirements, i know that if you've got a 2Ghz processor with good enough RAM and a decent GFX card. You should be fine.

I built mine specifically for games. If you love simulators its worth the investment to build a beast of a machine

You're welcome! But please keep in mind that it's very hard today to give decent system specs. The "good ol' days" when a 200 Mhz-processor was better than a 166 Mhz one are over.

Actually, if you say "3.0 Ghz", it doesn't mean it does always need such a processor. But other processors might perform slower although they have the requested 3 Ghz. So what can we do? It's always a question of how well the system itself runs and how the processor/graphic card match each other. So for example, a 2.7 Ghz i7 with an ATI 5850 will outperform an 3.2 Ghz AMD with an ATI 5770.
