modelling a route from pics?

I want to make some real life routes in the uk but obviously in LHD ( Left hand drive )

Can someone explain how they are making accurate real life routes by using maps etc?

I've read the SDK and it completely confuses me with regards to the majority of things.

so can anyone give me tips on how to make accurate routes with realistic hill gradients etc?

I would like to know this as well, I'm trying to make a map of a local express route but can't also is there a Google maps plugin to build to scale.

Seems there's a few of us because I'm going to attempt as soon as I can find something where I can get gradients and measurements etc from maps but can't find anything
