I live in Italy, in a city in the north of Milan. In 2007 a new bus company was born, called Brianza Trasporti and brought to all this area new busses. All these busses are Citaro, more or less the total number is more than 100 Citaro (My favourite Bus!!)
Here's some photos:
Citaro G (year 2007)
The 100th Citaro
One of the depots that this company has:
And then in January 2010 the company bought 16 more Citaro:
And the last month 10 more Citaro arrived. This is the reason (i think) why i love the Citaro! I travel every day on a Citaro G for going to school!

Citaro, Citaro, Citaro... Don`t you get sick of them? I agree they look very nice but it looks like they are going to over the world, you can find them in almost every city. Unfortunately, almost all articulated buses in our city Amsterdam are also Mercedes Citaro`s. They have replaced alot of the following buses and they will probably replace them all in a short time.
Goodbye Volvo`s!

Five doors ? So good, passengers can up into the bus by all the doors (I don't now that, French specialitiy is "Montée par l'avant" > up only by the 1st door, soooo bad I think !) ?
There are some many photos about Belgium's busses, but no photos from Brussel... Don't cry, I'm here
In Brussel, there are some museum busses, like this VanHool... :

Public operator REVG (in fact Cologne's regional operator RVK runs the buses for them in their livery) mostly uses MAN Lion's City with interurban seats and transmission. Private subcompanies will use everything with wheels and low floor (low floor is mandatory for getting a sub-operator contract). Mostly first generation Mercedes Citaro, some Mercedes O405N2, and few "exotic" (most are quite common generally but not here) ones like MAN NL313, Neoplan Centroliner, Solaris Urbino and one Temsa Avenue. Funny thing is that most subcontractors will not repaint their buses and continue running them in the municipal bus service colours they bought them. So we have a Moenchengladbach O405N2, a Munich O405N, a Berlin Citaro...

Excellent pics everyone! I'm from Staten Island, New York (one of the 5 boros of New York City) and here the buses are under the control of MTA New York City Transit. Here's the buses I see everyday on Staten Island:
1999 Orion V
2008-2009 Orion VII Next Generation Hybrid
2011 Novabus LFS
If anyone has been to NYC or lives here you're probably familiar with the Staten Island Ferry. Here on Staten Island, about 23 different bus lines terminate at the ferry terminal and all the buses depart at the same time a few minutes after a ferry drops off riders. Here's a couple of videos:
Afternoon at St. George Ferry Terminal
2011 Novabuses at St George
Evening Rush Hour (Many buses!)

@ rzr09: First pic from Vauxhall and second pic from Bromley Common garage? Surprisingly local to me. @Chrisrose: Romford is one of my favourite places for photos. Especially near the Market.
As some of the local may have guessed, I am from South London but I was born in North London I am a big bus fan and I even worked for a couple of companies: Arriva, Metroline and Blue Triangle (Now part of Go-Ahead London).

London's buses are dreadfully boring these days, but rather like the SD200 and SD202 its recent past was much more interesting. We had..........
DMS - Daimler/Leyland Fleetline. 2646 built, very unreliable and were quickly replaced. Last one left service in early 1993
M - MCW Metrobus. 1440 MK1 and 2 MK2's bought new, many others bought in second hand. Extreamly versatile and reliable. Was still widely being used up until 2003 when the end was near. The last examples were withdrawn in our second city, Birmingham, last year. 21 MK1 and 1 MK2 had Cummins L10 engines, the majority had Gardener 6LXB engines coupled with Voith gearboxes,
T - Leyland Titan. 1125 built. Leyland had serious problems getting them built which is why the Titan was really seen as a London bus and boosted orders the Metrobuses. Only small batches were sold outside London. Nearly all had Gardener 6LXB/Hydracylic combinations. T684 had a Voith gearbox.
L - Leyland Olympian. A huge success outside of London but a modest 263 built with ECW bodies plus two batches of Leyland and Alexander bodies. Cummins powerplants replaced the bombproof Gardener 6LXB/Hydracyclic combination on the later batches. L1 had a Leyland TL11 engine and was unique (and hellfire!)
LS - Leyland National. The NBC ordered hundreds of these across the country and the National became the standard single decker across the county. London ordered.437 MK1 with Leyland 510 engines and 69 MK2 with Leyland 680 engines. They were not popular with the engineering staff but were hellfire to me.
LX - Leyland Lynx. The replacement for the Leyland National. LRT only purchased a handful of these L10 engined beasts. Outside London they were sold in modest numbers. The vast majority wee built with ZF gearboxes
RM - AEC Routemaster. To me these were only interesting when they were as originally built with AEC AV590 engines. They lasted up until 2005 with various refurbishments. Crew operated, these things have a massive following and the hype they got when the last one was taken off the 159 (my local route) was amazing. Overhyped? Yes, Special? Definately
I am from South London and have worked for Arriva, Blue Triangle (before the sell out) and Sullivan Bus and have the privilage to drive pretty much all my favorites. These days, I hunt out the last of what to me was a golden era in London's Buses and actively help in the preservation of two Leyland Titans.

arent they making new routemasters to enter service in next few years (more fuel efficient and enviro friendly ones)?
Thema: Re: Buses in your hometown Mo 2 Mai - 22:39
@Tomtoon
Yes, they are attempting to make a Routemaster for the new age. The amount they are going to cost to make and the austerity measures may make it a pipe dream too far to our delusional mayor, Boris Johnson.
You can still ride Routemasters on the 9 and 15 but they are a mile away from the real thing.
