We have buses thread but we don't have a thread about city lines. Write something about your network, statistics, facts, interesting things regarding city bus/tram/metro lines.
I'll go first... Zagreb, Croatia, my hometown in a way...
Main public transport company is ZET (Zagrebacki Elektricni Tramvaj or Zagreb Electric Tram) founded back in 1891. with a horsecar line...Details on english about that here.
Bus lines: 134 daily and 4 night lines Bus stops: 2100 total, 500 of those in surrounding Zagreb county Numbering of lines: - only 3-digit lines starting from 101 with few missing numbers to 177, then from 201 also to 295, and 3xx and 4xx lines are driving outside of city boundaries - lines are mostly grouped into few major terminals and dozen or more smaller ones, almost all bus terminals are connected with tram network - bus lines usually start on ends of the tram network and from there spread either north to all hillside places, or in other directions connecting also outer city neighborhoods - line map usually looks all fuzzy in northern parts and grid-like everywhere else through city - longest line... probably 311 - Main Railway station (Glavni kolodvor) - Left Stefanki (Lijevi Štefanki), around 40km to the far southern border of Zagreb county - for detailed bus line list and terminal maps click here.
I might add something more if I remember later...
Tram lines: 15 daily, 4 night lines - numbering from 1 to 17 (without 10 and 16), and 31-34 by night - network is around 120km with 255 stations - lines connect different parts of the city and many of them are interchangeable along few parts of routes

In Novi Sad, Serbia, things go like this:
No tram lines 55 bus lines, 2 digit: city ones 1-14 (excluding 10 and 13), 3 lines that carry workers (10, 15, 16) and others are suburban. Also, the first number on suburban line is telling where are buses going so:
21-24: Sangaj, Kac, Budisava, Kovilj, those suburbs are on the same way 30-35: Temerin branch 41-43: Vrbas branch 52-56: Futog branch 61-84: Srem branch
Bustops? Eh... many
Night lines: 1 in the town, around 10 suburban (but they have 1 or 2 departures) Zone system: divided into 10 zones, depending on how is it far from NS. City is in 1st zone, ticket costs 40 RSD (around 0,35 €) All suburban lines are departing from the Railway station Longest line: 84 Novi Sad-Lug (42 km, ticket costs 250 RSD (around 2,5€))
There is only one public transport company: JGSP (Javno Gradsko Saobracajno Preduzece), founded in 1911.

Toronto: ~160ish daytime bus routes, 4 routes that go express to downtown, 22 night bus routes,6 Community bus routes (very local), 2 night streetcar routes (trams use an entirely different electrical system and pantographs) and 11 streetcar routes. FACT: Toronto is one of the only major cities to not have articulated or double decker buses since 2000. So its pretty much a very very bad problem in the morning and afternoon with single decked non articulated buses, they are around 35 ft in length

Hi! In my hometown, Girona, we have 2 companies...
TMG ("Transports Municipals del Gironès" or Girona-area public transport), public-owned company and the official one: 7 lines: L1, L2, L5, L10 -> midibuses; L7, L11 -> minibuses (like Mercedes Sprinter or Iveco Daily), mixed midibus/standard bus -> L8 I don't know the entire length of the TMG network, but it has to be near...60km more or less. They have 31 cars (4 standard, 9 minibuses, 18 midibuses).
TEISA ("Transports Electrics Interurbans, S.A." or "intercity electric transports", because they started in 1920 with a battery car), they have urban, suburban, regional routes, school buses and charter trips. Their entire fleet is composed by more than 135 vehicles, but only 18 are in urban duties: 17 standard buses (12/12.85 m. length) and 1 minibus: 4 lines: L3, L4, L6 (standard buses), LC (circular bus in Salt, a closer village (years ago, it was part of Girona)) -> 1 minibus.
In the hole system, the lowest frequency is in L3, 10 minutes, and the highest, in L10, 1 hour. The others are 15 min (L1, L2, L4, L5, L6, L7, L11) or 30 min (L8, LC).
A single ticket costs 1.30€, a 10-ticket bono costs 8.90€ and then there are multiple options depending if you want to be allowed to change bus or not.

In Curitiba, here in Brazil, there are 455 routes, but they are operated by different categories of vehicles. This appears to be a high number, but this number also counts the routes who depart from this city and go to nearest cities. It's called here: RIT (Integrated Transport Network) But there are also many small routes, to help people to go to hospitals, small areas in their neighbourhoods, etc. Express routes have their own lane, so they don't get stuck in traffic jams. They operate on a north-south and west-east axis. Their busstops are like tubes, as you can see in the image. Circular routes walk in "ring paths" through the city, and the conventional ones generally departs from downtown and go to near areas. There are also the feeding routes that takes people from their neighbourhoods to the bus terminals, where these express and circular buses stop. The public transportation is very well planed and it works very well! We get new buses every year!
The one below serves the express routes. It's powered with a VOLVO B12M ZF6spd and has 28 meters

And we also have a tour bus! Our city is very clean and beautiful. It's a good example for other cities here in Brazil.

I live in New York City and we have HUNDREDS of bus lines/routes. The only routes that use Motor Coach Industries(MCI) equipment are the EXPRESS routes which the fare is $5.50 Local and limited lines use a mix of Articulated and 40ft bus equipment fare is $2.25 but $2.50 oneway.

In Radom, Poland, we have 24 city bus lines that are controlled by the local TA (MZDiK [Miejski Zarząd Dróg i Komunikacji - or Municipal Road and Transport Authority] - they control the public transport and the roads - much like MTA in New York) numbered 1..19, 21 and 23..26. Some colours: black - normal, city route - planned solo operation on all trips orange - normal, city route - planned artic operation on all trips green - normal, city route - minibus operation red - normal, city route - planned mixed artic and solo trips purple - extends into rular areas - solo operation 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5* - 6 - 7* - 8* - 9* - 10 - 11 - 12 - 13* - 14* - 15* - 16 - 17 - 18 - 19 - 21* - 23* - 24 - 25 - 26 Asterisks: 5 - the major terminus is within city limits (funnily, just meters from it) and only 5-6 runs extend outside the city 7 - year-round, all trips are supposed to be artics, except for summer holidays (lower ridership = use of solos) and whenever the operator thinks it's no good to send an artic and sends a solo + pays €1 to the TA - LOL. 8 - sometimes, but really sometimes, you can see an artic on the 8. 9 - look 7. 13 - one trip is a solo one (weekdays, of course) - everything else is artic. On weekends there are more solos. 14 - look 5 and ignore the brackets. 15 - look 14. 21 - in case of the Air Show, All Saints and some other big events the route passes near, artics might be sent. 23 - rare artic to be seen. Look 14.
In Galway, in Ireland, on the other hand, there are two operators that operate the routes themselves and are not controlled by any means, really. Bus Eireann, the national operator, runs these city routes: black - normal, weekday, full-day, solos red - normal, weekday, rush hours, solos orange - normal, weekday, full-day, double-deckers and solos green - very rare, weekday, full-day (basically), solos blue - normal, Sunday, full-day, solos 1D - 2 - 2D - 3 - 4 - 5 - 7* - 9 - 9A - 12* - 18* - 24* - 38* - 45* Asterisks again: 7 - uses the same route all week. 12 - west half of the city: goes as route 1 then extends as route 2 - summer only - signed as 1K 18 - on west, signed as 1 - on east, signed as 8 24 - on east: first as 2, then extends as 4 - s. 2X4E - on west: route 2 38 - on east: first as 3, then extends as 8 - s. 3 - on west: usually route 1 45 - on west: first as 4, then extends as 5 - s. 4X5W - on east: route 5 I used multidigit numbers as basically route IDers.
