Thema: AI cars constantly running into me... So 6 März - 2:41
G'day all,
It has been well documented that the AI in OMSI needs some polishing up, and possibly the worst place for me in terms of not-at-fault accidents is at the intersection before the Seeburger Straße bus stop heading towards Freudstraße. Every time there's an AI car at the intersection, I get 'T-boned' - sometimes at high speed - due to the AI cars failing to give way. This issue occurs, albeit less frequently, at other intersections as well, including signalled ones. This results in an instant drop in driving record down to 0.1%. I believe that this would almost never be an issue in real life. Marcel/Rüdgier, are you aware of this severe playability issue and will there be a fix for it soon?
Thanks!

While I'm not one of the OMSI developers, I know exactly what you're talking about. I've complained about this issue as well, so not only have they noted it, it's one of the fixes coming in this patch.

Right now I use to yield in that intersection. When I arrive there, if I see cars incoming, I just brake and wait until it's all clear.
There is another problem too in another street but I don't remember the name now. It's a two way road with parked cars (similar to that Seeburger) and when you arrive an intersection, there is a small turn to left, and the cars on the left lane always change to right lane without warning. My first trip there I took the curve with care, on my lane, and for my surprise the car crashed into me. On the next trip I stoped the bus to see the traffic, so right now I always go there using both lanes, so noone can overtake me and do weird things. I will post the street name when I find it in game again.

Thanks for the information everyone. Much appreciated.
I have learned to be extra careful in the usual trouble spots, but sometimes even being careful isn't enough (i.e. around Rathaus Spadau, you get cars suddenly changing lanes ahead of you).
Luckily, my driving record in the game is still very good!

I found the problem I was talking about before. It's just before the Schm.-Knobelsdorf-Str. bus-stop, in the intersection. Looks like there are two lanes, and if you go on the right one and a car is on the left one, it will always change to the right lane, crashing on you. I don't exactly know how that intersection looks in reality, but looks like the right lane is only to turn right, or to go to the bus stop, and left lane should be used to turn left or to continue straight, so I don't understand why they do that strange movement.
Now reading the patch notes I find this: - yielding of AI cars at Schmidt-Knobelsdorf-Str. improved
So I don't know if it means they fixed this problem, or the Seeburger Str. problem, which I guess is the place poweredbycng was talking about. If is not the case, please M. and R. note that this also needs a fix, because cars never respect yield there.

In OMSI the AI traffic in the Seeburger/Schmidt-Knobelsdorf-intersection going straight only uses the left lane, the right lane is only used by cars turning right into Lutoner Str. So I suggest to use the left lane as well, because if you took the right lane, you'd cut the sharp left turn after the intersection anyway. So if you stay in left lane, there's no problem.

But the thing is that cars going on left lane, suddenly make a lane change to the right, then they continue straight, and come back left when both lanes merge again. Basically, they don't use just the left lane. I first used the right lane because I was heading for the bus stop, and I opened my bus on the curve to let the car on left more than enough room. My surprise came when that car instead of continuing straight, did an aggressive move to the right.
And yeah right now I use the left lane (or both at same time). I'll post a video of what I mean.

OK Rüdiger, this is exactly what I'm talking about (full screen for better view):
