This could be the reason!

We have found some troubles with umlauts!

If you had troubles with the Spandau map, please check out the following:

Go to "Omsi\maps\Berlin-Spandau_89\TTData" and look, if you find some files containing "WRÖ" ! E.g. "Wrö-RSp.ttr" !

If NOT could this be the reason! In this case, there stands something like "Wrµ-RSp.ttr" or something like that! Then please change the "µ" to "ö"!

PERHAPS IT WILL WORK THEN! Wink

I've already made sure every file in the above list has the letter "ö".

Maybe I should give you the content of the logfile.txt?
The logfile.txt regenerates every time when I load the map (and fails).

I searched and I actually have some of the files specified in the "did not find" statement.
What I don't have is: path_car_1.bmp, Snow_1.bmp.001, StrSchild_Text1.bmp, text.bmp, Textfeld_1.bmp, StrSchild_Text2.bmp, Hst_Reiter_2dgt.bmp, Hst_Reiter_3dgt.bmp

I've tried reinstalling but that does not solve the problem.

I've just downloaded the installer from aerosoft again.
Basically it is the same file since their checksums are the same.
For your information, the installer executable is of 717,457,336 bytes and with MD5 checksum "69a26328b6ea8cf2fd8b4c04f15fe57e".
The filename is AS_OMSI_V100.exe

Did a reinstall and still the same old problem, getting a "zugriffsverletzung" error when I try to load the Spandau map to the game.
The "no AI traffic", "no pedestrians" and "lowest graphics quality" tricks do not work for me. The Grundorf map works fine.

My system specs again:
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3 GHz
4GB of RAM
ATI HD4850 with Catalyst 10.2
DirectX 9.0c
Windows XP SP3 32-bit in Traditional Chinese (Using the administrator's account)

I wish there could be a solution although the Grundorf gameplay is excellent.

Does OMSI Installer create a installation log after the install procedure? It's like that after some "language bug" affecting a specific file, the others won't get installed.

May I ask where can I locate the specified installation log?
The installation told me it's successful and did not report anything special.
(After I've managed to work out a solution to fix the "ö" letter thing which stops me from completing the installation)

It could be issues with the language settings on your PC! You could search for those aforemationed listed files and see if they exist. You could change the language settings to English as well and see if it works that way...

i have already tried to change the non-Unicode language to German in the language and area settings. it does work for the installer but it doesn't work for the game, sadly...

anyway the gamplay is awesome and i think the developers have done a great job. just a few more steps to reach perfection Smile

There is a standard thing in programming, and application development: never use non english characters, or even non english language in source code, and source files, only use other languages on user interface.

Can't agree more with you.
"Standard" ways of solving locale issues (use of Microsoft AppLocale, and setting the default non-unicode locale) all failed to work with this game.
From my observation in some local forums, I have not seen a single person who can get this working under Chinese environment.

Anyway, I was planning for an upgrade to Windows 7 and that would be in English cause I don't really need the Chinese environment anymore.
But for the time being, as well as catering the needs of the other users, please kindly fix this.

Finally figured out how to get into Spandau map.

Other than setting non-unicode locale to German, the date/time format has to be in non-Chinese format. (I set it to English US.)
