Paths question

A pretty simple question:

Can you add/place new paths (if yes, how)?... for instance i want to make a pedestrian path crossing a road where there arent a path already (im making a custom pedestrian crossing)

There are invisible splines for roadtraffic and airplanes. But there exists no for pedastrians - and you shouldn't solve your problem that way because then anybody will caution each other...
