MarkHodgkinson's SYT & Yorkshire Traction Repaints (Work In Progress)

I've been watching the great re-skins appear on these forums over the past few weeks and thought it was time to have a go myself...........

Here's my first attempt, a SD85 in SYT livery:


There's a few bits and pieces to do yet before I release it, in particular I need to add the SYT logos and the South Yorkshire emblem near the front doors. I also want to add the "SYT around South Yorkshire" advert that was carried by many buses when this livery first appeared in the mid-80's.

I have made a few improvements from yesterday, including the refinement of the cream colour and the addition of the SYT logos............

...........work continues on the SYT SD85's.

There are now 4 different versions of the SD85 as can been seen in the following screenshots:







The models now just need the SY County logo adding and some authentic adverts.

Hopefully they should be available for download soon................

..................also added SYT and SYT Fastline re-skins of the D92 to the collection:



I will put all of them up for download when I'm happy with them...........

I noticed the SD77 makes a diff overrun noise that sounds very similar to a RH Dominator.

Looking through my old photographs to create these repaints sure reminded me how much better it was in the old days.

Today I created an authentic advert for the SD85:





I'm hoping to get to the South Yorkshire Transport Museum on Sunday to hopefully acquire some useful material for my repaints.

Love the SYT seat covers, all we need now is those horrid brown vinyl seats upstairs & the SYT spec split level step arrangement like the Dominators had.

Sorry. When I started this thread I did intend to release the repaints straight away; hence why I created this thread in the download section, but now I'm waiting until I've done an entire pack, so thanks for moving it accordingly.

When I eventually release the repaints I will create a new thread in the download section.

Anyhow, here's a few more shots of todays work:

Thanks for the kind words.

I got the SYT logo from an SYT cardboard pen holder I scanned in - you might remember it, it had a colour drawing of an SYT Dennis Dominator in profile view on the side - perfect for getting the logo from!

I got the Sheffield Mainline logo from a profile photograph of an East Lancs Dominator on Flickr.

If anybody can help me with Rotherham and Doncaster Mainline logos I would be most greatful as I'm finding it difficult in tracking them down. I just wish I hadn't thrown out all of my old SYT/Mainline leaflets a few years ago as I distinctly remember the Doncaster Mainline launch leaflets featured the logos and drawings of the buses that would have been perfect................

...........scrub the request for the Rotherham Mainline logo as I managed to find a decent shot of the logo on one of my own photographs taken at the Midland Road Open Day in 1993. I have also now managed to get the SYT logo into the front windows of the D92s:

Thanks for the kind words Ricky and yes, I'm the one and the same Mr Hodgkinson of Trainz "V6E Mittelstadt" fame. Glad you like the route - it took me many months to complete.

The Doncaster Mainline livery is almost complete:

All the repaints will be released when I'm happy with them - probably as one big SYT repaint pack.

The SYT repaints for the SD85 and SD77 have been updated with the lowering of the centre tan and red lines.

Sheffield Mainline SD77:

The Sheffield Mainline SD77 repaint has been updated with the lowering of the centre red band.

To be honest, I haven't really thought about it. What do you think?

Would livery packs be the best option?
