Lines 100 Ystad Express [VERSION 3.0 NOW RELEASED] - Yes, Three!!

VERSION 3.0 RELEASED!

Version 3.0 has been released at 21:09z on Mon 21st March 2011.

Changes:-

- The Line 100 timetable still wasn't right as services were arriving at Sandakra still too early, and then later parts of the timetable were too tight. Brand new VERSION 3.0 timetable with much better spacing between stops.

- Line 200 has been withdrawn for now as it was not adding enough to the simulation. Line 100 now takes 23 minutes one way which is a decent mid-length route.

- Info markers added for all bus stops on the route now.

Awesome, indeed Mediafire is too busy at the moment but the minute I can download it I will upload it back to the FTP in the right place for you David so you can see it when you login yourself

EDIT: Dave looks like the Mediafire link is not going to work, if you send it to my email I will upload it to the FTP for you so ppl have a steady link to be able to download ok ?

I don't know.. It's very hard to hold the timetable, you easily go to fast. I had to wait 10 minutes at Buring or something, and it's basicly just road road road if you are not in a city.. hope to see some more landscape improvements, otherwise good job!

Must agree. After moving the library back in the editor (cos it kept throughing me around the map...maybe its just my library but i dunno!) i noticed to get from town to town on timetable takes 4 minutes and can actually only take 2 minutes. Compared to the previous Dannenburg map, there is too much waiting on this map lol

And Skurup is not the layover its on the one before it. It doesnt take 13 minutes to get to Sackstr or whatever it is! Then it is 2 minutes to Skurup and 13 minutes to the next one.. Im still playing but i guess Skurup is not the layover!

But then why do we need it I have to wait 6 minutes at the Borrindge one and block traffic? May i ask what Im doing wrong cos Im trying maintain speed. Or is it just the nature of express routes have long breaks at each town?

Hopefully V2 as mentioned above will help these changes. The AI appear to produce more than once an hour in terms of 100 frequency? Maybe just make it half hour alternations or something. Its a great map bogged down with long layovers!

Plus i encountered an invisible object in the road, on the way back from skurup to ystad... wasnt going too fast, but the bus went flying.... said i hit a passenger.. there was no passengers around.. especially not in the road... whats wrong here?

it's the BP garage where the SD200 bus is just sitting just before the actual garage..

Its the library opposite the petrol station as i have mentioned in the real routes and this thread

just hop into the editor and move the x and y coordinates of the stadt//// building so its further from the road...there is a problem with the territory limitor on the generic building!

lol. well i did it and it now works and i dont get any invisible collisions. but if he asks, then thats what it is. basically move the library or delete it. doesnt affect anything, just eliminates the nuasane!

Don't make it like another 92 route pleaseeeee.. The time given for this route is perfect... People can learn to drive slowly.. or set off a few minutes late.. That's what they do in the real world

Also in the real world, there isnt all these breaks. Take National Express in UK and Europe. It arrives at terminuses, picks up a few passengers and leaves for its next destination, with maybe a minute like any normal bus to keep them on scheudle.

The issue is, dont pull a 92 and make it constant, but just shrink the breaks a little bit. Keep a few minutes at terminuses but not like 7-10 minutes. On a 80, we can only go like 72 and 68 or whatever bus you drive speed cap, so we arent even going full speed yet we arrive too early. Otherwise i will be dawdling on a main road at 30mph which is just bad driving lol.

As I have stated before, the 50 minutes actually feels really successful when you reach the terminus, its a bit of a shame there are a few too many long breaks, cut the breaks down a fraction and its fine!

You can manage to do the 92 route pretty much in time even within the road laws/speed limits if you dont sleep at the stops Pretty normal for big cities where buses rarely make it exactly on time IRL.

yes this is true. most 10 minute services in cities vow to make sure frequency is stable rather follow a timetable. ie Birmingham every 5 minutes bus, although it has a vague timetable, the controllers try and just make all the buses run between 4-7 minutes apart from each other rather than bang on 5 minutes. But most 92 runs you run overtime than under it...don't know why you are rushing so much. Drive normally and you will be fine...I tend to go quite fast driving, but then break in enough time and steer with least power! It's common practise is bus driving lol!

I'll wait for version two, this sounds interesting for sure and thank goodness its an .exe file - David you're a legend!

I must say, another great map that has different driving conditions compared to practically everything else out there.

The times definitely need to be tightened. There should be 10min MAX layover at each end and with maybe a half-way timing point added. Each stop should be 'touch and go'.
