Editor question

Is there some kind of picture preview for making a map? Like some kind of picture overlaying the map, so that you can make somewhat real map.

Yes, you can underlay an aerial photo or a map. This will be explained in the Editor SDK (currently only available in German, but there'll be an English translation soon)

Is it possible to get only the map editor (for free)? I could start creating a map, still I'm waiting for the packed version..

I didnt manage to find it IN the german SDK, not SDK itself And no, the editor is not free, because its integrated with the game.

Call me stupid, but how do you go about doing that?

Just create a Desktop-Icon of the exe (how do you call it in english? We have the same word like for "link": "Verknüpfung") with an changed commando line!
