LOL OMG THIS PROJECT IS DED. No, not really. Not much to show, but it's something. The Tecmic onboard computer is nearly done. The buttons with nothing written on them just mean I have no idea what they're supposed to be, it's very hard to find references for this. Also, please excuse the cartoonish look, the texture was completely hand drawn... I'll see what I can do, probbably add some dirt or highlights or something. :/

Cartoonish look? Probably kidding. What always amazed me in your work is you always reproduce textures as real as possible! I can only imagine what the dashboard looks like!
Heh, I only mean it as a joke since I rarely post any updates.
Actually Bruno, if you could, get me the two last pictures I need (if you still ride these buses): One from the Tecmic computer and one from the destination display changer, I actually have no idea what it looks like. Also, I have a general idea on what features to program into this, but it's going to be tough. Especially considering that most of the buses in my hometown use this system, and it controls the destination display, the Andante ticket system (the Porto city is divided into areas, the Andante ticket gives you acess to only some of these areas; the more money you spend per ticket, the more areas you can visit), the automatic station annoucer and, of course, it sends data to the bus company (after all, it is a fleet manager computer ), but this last deature probbably won't be coded.

No Pedro, don't make it Portugese text.. please.. write it in English...

Ugh, I was afraid someone would say this... Well, it's a Portuguese fleet management computer on a Portuguese-built bus that operates in Portugal. So, at least for now, it's defenentley staying in Portuguese. After all, the IBIS is completely in German and no body complained about that. Besides, half of the buttons you see won't be usable, so, even if the buttons are all in Portuguese, you'll easily be able to navigate across the menus.
Nevertheless, nothing stops me from chaging the text. After all, it's a pretty simple change. But, at least for the initial release, everything will be in Portuguese. I aim for realism with these things, and I've always felt that making text in English would make it more usable to the average player, but it would decrease the realism. So yeah, it's possible you'll be able to download a translator pack after the initial release.
And Bruno: Actually, that's one of the pictures I've used for reference, but I belive the design for the double decker/B7L is different, like the one I have now. For example, the picture yo posed has a full keyboard, with both letters and numbers, while my model has only got numbers. But I already noticed that the B12B has a design like the picture you posted, so I guess I'll have to redo it for the B12B.

@Pedro, I understand. Although, on our IBIS machines, the buttons are pictures, not text!
I also think that I found the German IBIS easy as I speak a bit German myself, and as a Danish person, the short words weren't hard to find out! Although, I can live with it, of course. I appreciate that you put realism as a 1st priority. And it's very good to hear from you.
I remembered another thing regarding Volvo's electronics!
For example, drivers starts to break to slow down at the bus stop, and opens doors too early and the bus is still on the move a bit, this sound is heard which is followed by the red stop sign. I know this is from a truck, but all Volvo dash electronics and sounds are the same!
Here's a excellent quality video with HQ sound, that might help Pedro!

Our citadino´s don´t do that sound... they don´t allow the driver to open the door before reaching full stop, and then the bus automatically applies the bus brake, there is a double click sound when the door is open showing the door sign, and after getting closed when a status message is displayed...
I love those dashboards ... so clean ... so modern ...
Cheers

BTW : The start up sound is exactly like that, except it is faster ...

Ok, Bruno, thanks for the info!
But you are talking about the B12B/B12M version? I meant this for B7R version.
And I agree with you, I absolutely love Volvo dashboards. Hate it when some manufacturers put VDO on Volvo. Ugh... Just doesn't fit it... On Citaros and MANs, VDO is standard, and it looks good on those buses!
