Unable to delete a spline...

Ok, so I've got a U-shaped section of road that I need to delete. I was going to do one thing with the exit from my route's main depot, now I'm completely changing it... Every other section of road deleted fine, but this one simply will not delete at all. There is no other section of road attached to either end of it (since I'd long since figured out that that's one of the editor's quirks).

Any ideas how I can get rid of this section of road?
