Updating my Computer: What to do first?

Hello everyone.
Like just about everyone here, I'm getting fed up with the low FPS I get while playing OMSI. However, unlike most people, I can't complain that it runs slowly on my high-end computer simply because... I have a pretty bad computer.

So my question is, what should I replace? Graphics card, CPU, etc.? I don't really have enough experience, hardware wise, to decide for myself, and I'm afraid I'll spend my money on the wrong thing. Here are my specs:

AMD Phenom 8550 Triple Core Processor, 2.20 GHz
3.00 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3650 512mb
Windows Vista 32bit

As you can see, it's pretty crappy. I'm thinking about replacing the graphics card first but, what do you guys think?

You have same specs as me, only I have 2GB of RAM.

I'd recommend you 4GB of ram and a 1GB gfx card, Nvidia or ATi.
CPU is good!

P.S. Your computer isn't crappy at all! I run Spandau at 20FPS all the time with these specs:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.21 GHz
Motherboard: Biostar TA770E AM2+
RAM: 2 GB
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce 8600GT 512 Megabytes

One thing to note, especially if your PC is 'off the shelf', is that you are likely to need a new power supply to support more demanding components such as graphics cards. My pc had a 200 something watt power supply and struggled to work properly as it was from factory, so I bought a suitable new bit of kit and had a bloody good job getting it in!
As for worrying about inexperience, as long as you follow the manuals there's nothing really that can go wrong unless you get aggressive with things, everything *should* slide into place nicely, nothing will fit in the wrong place and so on.

CPU looks good, I would actually start with Ram, It's a bit like money.. The more you have, The more you can do with it.

With more memory in your PC, your PC will be able to load more textures without any slowdown

Secondly, Go get something bigger for GPU.

I would suggest at the very minimum an XFX HD 5770 1GB ( If you don't have a large budget )




IF however you have a bigger budget you could opt for the XFX HD 6870 1GB!
