Very wonderful line, I'm really waiting for the release of you're map !
maybe you can made a day the line M49 too
Funnily enough I am planning a later version of this same map but with additional route(s) on, and was looking at the M49 on the BVG chart today. Yes, that would be a real possibility.
I have also been looking at the 131 as it terminates in Spektefeld, which I'm currently working on for the M37.
Update:- - All track, trip and timetable work completed for this M37 variation. - All 'Helper' system entries made. - M37_Spandau.hof Depot File built. - Waldkrankenhaus area scenery completed. - Spektefeld area scenery underway.
Still to do:-
- Complete Spektefeld area scenery. - Complete Baluschekweg / Maulbeeralee area scenery. - a little more scenery work just north of Reimerweg required (due to gaps from removal of Berlin Wall).
I also need to decide whether to also add the 'normal' M37 route (serving Freudstr.) into this map as well. Will add a lot more work as will have to produce tracks and trips from scratch, but may be worth it in the end, having both services running on the map.
Cheers.

This is brilliant, looking forward to seeing this one released.
I do have a question, more about BVG than the map - what's the significance of the 'M' in M37? As not all routes carry a letter prefix?

M = 'Metrobus'
Lines that serve major routes that aren't otherwise served by the S and U-bahn.

The Reimerweg-Baluschekweg-Freudstr. service of the M37 will be renamed back to line 137 this sping by the BVG. The Hahneberg-Sandstr.-Spektefeld(-Waldkrankenhaus) service will be kept as M37. But the route doesn't change.
Remember, the bus numbers in Berlin were reformed in 1991: the 92 (already altering Freudstr. / Falkensee Bahnhof) became then 137. Later the circle via Altstadt was left out and the 137 went from Falkensee or Freudstr. to Reimerweg or Hahneberg. Then came the metrobus-system, and the 137 became M37. I think at this point the route was splitted up in the Spektefeld/Waldkrankenhaus part and the one to Freudstr. The Falkensee trips were served by the 337, going from Rathaus via Hohenzollernring and Falkenseer Chaussee (already a part of the OMSI Spandau-map).

This is just a map of U, S and regio-trains. when you click on "Rathaus Spandau" then you also see a list of bus lines.

and then
337 between Falkensee, Bahnhof and S+U Rathaus Spandau metro (U-Bahn) and urban rail station (S-Bahn

Hi,
Thanks for this - I read about it in the German forum. It starts from May 2011 I see. It seems my current variation of the M37 route is split between the future M37 and 137 routes! ....because I'm running the Baluschekweg/Maulbeerallee section (instead of Sandtr./Blasewitzer as per the 92 map), which it seems will be part of the 137 route, but I'm then doing the Spektefeld & Waldkrankenhaus section, which will be part of the new M37 route.
I suppose I could revert back to the Blasewitzer ring section to keep my new M37 map as the 'pure' version of the new M37 route, but that would be a shame as I've just finished upgrading the scenery around Maulbeerallee. (In fact the road of Baluschekweg did not even exist in the original map!).
My choices are:-
1). Keep this project as it is (will be completed and released within the next 3 or 4 days).
2). Change all of the routing to follow the new M37 / 137 lines that start from May 2011. (Will delay release by 1-2 weeks).
Any views?
Cheers, David.

Could do. That would certainly be the easy option as the current map is almost completed...... but.... I wanted this to be a realistic depiction of the 'modern day Spandau' routes, so it bothers me a bit that my M37 route is now a bit of 2 different routes
I'll sleep on this one I think!

Good idea, but we are still 1+ month from May so if you released the map as it is then it'd be accurate, so theres no problem imo

If you chose to make the Waldkrankenhaus-part without the Freudstraße-part, then you won't have to mind about the Baluschekweg-area, as this service is always via Sandstraße. When you also like to include the actual M37 / future 137-part to Freudstraße, then it would go via Baluschekweg. But i think in this case you do not have to change the streets, only include some buildings and vegetation scenery. Perhaps move some bus stops to their acual position.
The change from M37 to 137 is only a change in the numbe, so ist affects only the number in the trip-files and in the Hof-file, and perhaps on the bus stop signs. The timetable will also change a bit, but I think this is not important for your work right now.
Somehow tricky could be the "Im Spektefeld / Schulzentrum" terminus for the M37. It is at the hight of the bus stop "Spektefeld Schulzentrum" in the original Spandau map. The "Im Spektefeld" bus stop in the original map was renamed simply to "Spektefeld". Today there is a turning area in the front oft the school (take a look at Google Earth / Street View) for busses ending there (from Hahneberg the M37 goes every 10 minutes only to "Im Spektefeld" and every 20 minutes to Waldkrankenhaus via "Im Spektefeld").
Do what you are pleased to do, it is your free time, so deside what you like more;-) When you ask the community they will always want to have the bigger and longer choise.
But remember to ask Marcel and Rüdiger before releasing a changed Spandau map.

Thanks for your views. For my current project, it certainly isn't just a case of changing service numbers.... because the route I've spent days 'tracking' is a combination of the two variations. That's my mistake and is quite easily corrected, but the Editor does not like too many changes to tracks, trips and timetable files, so I will probably find it easier (and safer) to do the new M37 and 137 tracks, trips and timetables from scratch.
Well it was always about 'routing realism' so I have decided to extend the project to now cover:-
1). New M37 line operating: Hahneburg - Sandstr. - Spektefeld - Waldkrankenhaus. 2). New M37 line operating: Hahneburg - Sandstr. - Spektefeld. 3). New 137 line operating: Reimerweg - Baluschekweg - Freudstr.
I can't see any issues releasing this map, because I'm not in anyway distributing the original Berlin-Spandau map, it's just code, re-placing those original objects and setting up new routes and lines as we do on any new map. I will drop M+R an email to confirm out of courtesy though.
Cheers, David.

The new view from 'Stadtgrenze' (now Hahneburg)...... there is no Berlin Wall, the checkpoint has gone, and Heerstr. now extends a little further in this map;

The busstop is called "Hahneberg", not "Hahneburg", though it may sound the same in English

Well spotted Rudiger, and thanks. Will get this corrected now.
Just to confirm to everyone else: this map will now definately be covering the new M37 and 137 routes that come into effect from May this year (Only just over 1 month away). There's no point in releasing a 'Spandau Modern' map that features a route that doesn't exist; so the right thing to do is to model the correct variations of the route. And as one of the variations will soon be renumbered '137' again it makes sense to do that now.
The good news is that the map itself is finished, with changes / additions to the following areas of the original map:-
- Addition of further road splines along Stadtrandstr. - Building of the Walkdkrankenhaus Hospital on Stadtrandstr. - Additions to scenery around Spektefeld area. - Building of the road Baluschekweg. - Additions to scenery around Baluschekweg and Maulbeerallee. - Additions to scenery at Hahneberg and extension of Heerstr.
The other good news is that the re-building of the new tracks, trips and timetables is working great and proceeding faster than expected.
I won't be rushing it but I expect this map to be completed in the next 4 days.
David.

This is looking good, although the 92 is still the one for me, rollerblind vehicles
But this is ace, the modern day - However when is the last M37 bus from the Hospital to Hahneberg?
Thanks

Hi JunGRail,
I love the vintage stuff too but it's also nice to have something more up to date sometimes.
One thing I will say upfront is that this map is about routing realism, and having some extra goodies that expand upon the wonderful original Spandau map. Regarding timetables; although the line time will be broadly accurate, and I will be aiming for broad frequency realism, I'm not aiming to replicate the actual M37/137 timetable. Especially as it is about to change in May.
As I understand it the M37 is now a 24h service (or at least will be from May) so that should make things a little more straightforward.
Cheers, David.

Update:-
All of the tracks, trips and timetables for both variations of the M37 are completed. The package is basically done except for the trips, tracks and timetables for the 137.
Very little left to do but busy with real life all weekend so it will be early next week when it's released. I'm really pleased with how this map has turned out, I hope you'll think it's awesome too!
Here's a M37 driver enjoying a 13min layover at the hospital, before he takes the 00:15 to Hahneberg :-
Cheers,
David.
