Thema: Radio (playing from .mp3 or other file..) So 9 Jan - 11:02
Hi,
Just simple question, a Radio function will be included? I mean playing songs ingame from .mp3 or other extension file.
Thanks

Yes, I'd also like to know that. And will OMSI support streaming internet radios if it has a radio?

yea, that would be great too, but simple file playing would be enough also it would make gameplay nicer ;p

Naaaaah, remember, for faster performance, terminate all running programs in background!

Yes good idea, maybe you can play the sounds from the speakers in the bus so its a little bit more realistic.

And then have OMSI worrying about playing back music?

I think too, that would be the same!
And until now I could not see any problems using OMSI and e.g. iTunes the same time.

Yes, but, It'll be a little complicated to change song of your choosing every time! And I play with steering wheel, surely, it couldn't be hard to code that (for you, who have done some major artwork and coding) It doesn't have to be MP3 though, OGG is optimal, since that format uses a number of games I play (or wav)

Perhaps in OMSI you can script a radio function yourself

Where?! The bus (this would be rather odd) or the source code which won't be published?

anyway, i can code my own radio with hooking device of the game, and draw it on the screen (2d radio) with needed functions, it will save a lot fps.

Why do you all want a full-features included radio, why so complicated?
I always just put a little radio on my desk when I'm driving... of course, the sound doesn't come out of the speakers then, but does it really pay to code an own radio? I will just keep using my "old-fashioned" way of listening to the radio

I don't have a radio player on my desk!

Get a mobile if it has a radio function... that's what I use when my laptop isn't on, especially while modelling.

I have a mobile phone with a radio.... a Nokia 5130 XpressMusic!
But it would be more real if they code it in OMSI, but that's their choice! OMSI is the best bus sim, and all other bus (games) have radio function.. would be a little silly
