Thema: The Great Richwyn v1 by Asakusa Workshop Mi 28 Sep - 10:44
After half a year's hard work, we have completed the first version of The Great Richwyn map. There are 16 routes covering 13 square kilometres. And we have put in quite some technical elements on bus operation in Hong Kong. Please raise any issues or comments.
Reminders
Since the map is rather large, (and most importantly it is not a linear map whereby OMSI loads much quicker), so it is recommended that you use a really powerful computer (Better in the i3/i5/i7 range of CPU, 4+GB RAM and a moderate to advanced display card). We have tried our best to facelift the map already.
You can avoid any troubles in reading schedules by grabbing buses running on the streets, but you are most welcome to read and understand how Hong Kong buses are operated, by reading our manuals.
We do not have blinds yet, so please use buses with electronic destination displays.
Please make sure you have the following addon-packs:
If you pack of SimpleStreets do not have str_2spur_8m_TypAltonaer_Emil.sli , please copy "str_2spur_8m_altonaer1.sli" under "Splines\Marcel" to "Splines\ADDON_SimpleStreets" as "str_2spur_8m_TypAltonaer_Emil.sli"

I'm thinking of releasing my map that I've been doing past 6 months... it started simple, but I added a lot past months... now it currently has 22 lines, 1 express and 3 night lines... my pc is average, nothing too fast and waiting time is around 5-7 minutes to load... not sure if that would be right to offer here if it's too big...

It depends on whether the map is linear or not. If you have a rectangular map, you will always need to load 9 (3x3) tiles if you set neighbourhood tiles to 1, and if you set it to 2, it will load 25 tiles!
If you have a lot of AI buses in those tiles, it will surely take up a lot of processing power.

Hmm... I think you should realease the map. The bigger it is.. The more popular it gts And 22 Lines... Wow ! That is much ! But I just Think you should release it. Offtopic: hos Long is the lines .

You mean the start point? To minimise objects count, we have only put starting points at major locations. You can put your bus at UWO (U-bhf Wolfside) and drive the bus to TEC (Technical College), or use the F4 trick.
We have put up a few tutorials for reference. Only one direction is recorded unless the return trip is very different.

Thank you for sharing your work with us. As I can see, it looks really promising !
However, I can't load it. I don't know if it's because my PC can't handle it - I wish OMSI would support my quad-core... ! - so I've downgraded most of the graphic / AI settings, but I still get the usual 004E4C8 error. And when I want to close OMSI, the game shows me an error I never saw before: "E/A Fehler 32".
BTW - I was able to run all the available maps until now, between 15-20 FPS, so I don't know if the problem is about my PC specs.

The X29 doesn't work properly, I started from Neustadt Fahre on time, pushed Shift-Y to see if i was late/early and it kept displaying Next Stop Neustatd Farhre, by the time I got to HEK, it still showed Neustadt Fahre despite me stopping at all the stops and following the correct route. Can you confirm how to get the X29 route to function properly please. I cant see what I'm doing wrong.

Hi,
I understand you're busy, but could you take a look into this map, there's stops missing on the IBIS, after Ashirk Garden, about 4 stops are missing and you're going the wrong way on the N23. I understand the timetables but the passengers do not board on the return journey for Ashirk Garden. The map looks fantastic, the biggest map i've seen but the directions could be a little clearer on the N23 and X29,
Also the IBIS needs to include all of the stops?!

There are some things that I need to add before the release... helpers are 10% finished, street lights are at 30-40%, so I need to finish those and it will be all set... also I'm preparing a quite large pdf file for all schedules and maps, so it won't be released till I do that as well... Some lines are long, some short... I'd say average trip is around 7-10 minutes... there are easier lines and some challenging ones... Give me some week or so and I'll release it for use even though it's big...

From our tests we weren't aware of any problems of the X29 track.
Maybe you could take a look at this video shot by gn01084991 on youtube:
The IBIS is Linie 2936, Route 1 / 2 to show "Hermannskogel (Express)" and "Neustadt Fahre (Express)". It's OK not to switch the display in the return trip because the Target for both signs are the same. If you do use the stop reporting system, then it will switch automatically.
We will be uploading more route videos soon (Next one will be Line 21), but it takes quite some time to compress the videos

A video of Line 21 is added. This is recorded using the next preview release, so don't be surprised to see small differences in some junctions.
The stop announcement system is under test and adjustments.

Most other lines are coming soon, except N79 which may need to be released later because of a planned route merger of Lines 73 and 79
Update: X29 video added.
