This is my First post
I want to start by thanking OMSI team finaly there is somebody making a Good Bus simulator.

To make Omsi Better Here is my suggestions:

1. Make It possible to have a third-person view where you can see yourself
and that you can walk outside the bus and Around the Street
This way Say you start the game in the Bustation
and you can have Some buses on bustation (the buses you choose)
you walk toward the bus open the door and sit down in the driver seat
then you change view to first person cab-view and start driving bus out of bustation
When you arive back to bustation after a route you Park the Bus in the correct Bus line
you Open door and walk out of the bus.
This way you can easy change between buses and pick another bus.

2. Any bus can drive anywhere
First you choose the bus on bustation by walking around
in the bustation (say like in GTA style you just open door and get in)
Then once inside bus you can change Destiny sign to go whetever you want
and pick your route.

Say there is a Mercedes M405, a Scania Omnicity and a Man lioncity on bustation
you decide to drive Lioncity so just walk toward the bus and open the door.

3. Possibility to open/close the doors whenever you want
even if you are not on bustop (like in vbus)

4. Make the passangers more inteligent
in the video they all stand in the same possition like in a military parade
this is the only thing in the game i have found be unrealistic
would be good to make passanger react more
Say someone can be sitting , someone standing
someone walking while they wait on bus
but this is not a big problem but will improve the game i think

5. Make it possible to easy change Color on a bus
by just a few clicks
so say you have a yellow bus you can easy change it to Blue by just choosing
Change color and then choose from some colors
and the whole bus then change to another color.

6. Make it possible for Bus damage from crashes
But in Game option make it possible to Turn this ON/OFF
so if you dont like bus damage you can turn it off

7. Make a MAP option so while you drive you see a little map of the city
and then anytime you can pause game and get a BIG map
on this MAP you see roads , Bustops and Bustations

8. Finaly i would sugest more Buses from Launch
I know this game is based upon Berlin line so probaly i cant sugest Scania?
I would like to sugest a bus like Scania Cr112 or Scania CN 112 or the classic Scania CR111
this are my favorite buses and are very pretty buses.
Now if i have to sugest some german buses
i would choose Mercedes Integro is a nice bus and Man lioncity
I think is good idea to have both Old and new buses in the game.

Good buses in game is :
Mercedes 405, Mercedes citaro, Mercedes integro, Man lioncity, Setra S315/415, Volvo 7000/7700
Scania Cn/Cr 112, Scania Cn113, Scania CR 111, Scania omnictiy

Yea thats correct I am a Scania fan Smile

1)
We haven't yet decided on including a third-person view. Generally, you can use the free view mode to move across the map. Buses are selected by clicking on them. Maybe we'll include a more detailed way to select a vehicle, but that is still to be discussed.

2)
There will be different modes. Normally you would select a certain timetable and pick a course from that timetable you want to take. But still you'll have to set the correct destination displays and you can drive wherever you want of course. But you won't get the best results Wink
If you just want to drive as you like, you may also choose the free mode. The other buses from the timetable will be there as well, so you can drive additional courses.
All timetable-related matters are not yet implemented.

3)
Of course that's possible. Nobody would prevent you from doing so in real life, so why should OMSI do that? Wink

4)
Parts of that are already working. If the bus stop includes seats, some passengers sit in the waiting hut until you reach the stop. That's when they stand up and walk towards the bus.

5)
There will be different liverys for every bus. You simply select your favorite livery or advertisement. The textures can be modified with any painting program.

6)
We will not include visual damage for three reasons: First, we don't want to see our historic models in such a condition. Second, we would have to include a mesh-modifying crash model with appropriate damage textures (where to get them?) and last but not least: If we want to have oficially licensed models, we doubt that the manufacturers want to see those effects either.

7)
We are planning a map of the current route that can be displayed everytime the bus is standing.

8 )
Concerning the models directly made by us, there will be only Berlin bus types from the 80s und early 90s. I have never seen a Scania bus in real life - in Germany you'll find only Scania trucks. But everyone can build his own favourite bus models using Blender. That is what OMSI is meant to be (and one of its greatest advantages, I think): A platform where everybody can contribute to its content.

hi i am from India and a bus fan of course.....well in india we have buses on the same route and sometimes the buses race againt each other, to either take more passengers(since the drivers and conductor earn on a commission basis,i.e. they get a % of the money they earn each day) or to reach the destination before the other bus, because here if a bus overtakes the previous bus on the same route, then the former(second bus) will earn a amount of money as fine from the latter(first bus)..and here we have time, where a bus will have to reach a certain destination within a certain time or he pays a fine.....
i will personally be really pleased to see all these in omnibussimulator and this will also make the game much more adventurous and not monotonous.........

This is meant to be a simulator, not an arcade game. A simulator's main goal is not to be adventurous, it is to simulate the reality. Although this is apparently how it works in India, in Europe open-access public transport has to be replaced in favour of government-contracted transport. And since I think the main market for OMSI is the European market, not the Indian, I assume that this feature isn't going to be implemented in OMSI.

I think that OMSI should be a simulator (FIRST!) and maybe as a side mission have this kind of "arcade" game style.
Lets say that the simulator should cover 98% of the final game and the 2% could be kind of sidemissions...

Parts Razz But it will work in 100%? Full animated passengers (walking around platform, not only the bus stops, running to the bus, walking on the street or - maybe Razz - smoking) will make OMSI more realistic than today Smile

My suggestions for simulator:
1. Passengers will look quite better? In real world passengers aren't only „Helgas” (it's my my suggested name for them! Wink )

2. Could be added sound of walking when player walk around map or walk on bus (if it will be implemented)? This sound is easy to get Wink

3. Noises inside the bus connected with ride on damaged asphalt street and sounds outside the bus (and noises inside) connected with ride on paved road can be added

I will use this topic cause I dont wanna spam... I have 1 more pleasure, please, do really easy tutorial for your route editor.. Fuck 3D modelling tutorials, there is lot of these on the internet... 1 neccessary tutorial with english subtitules is enough....

I have another Idea
I lnow this is the competition and such but...
Would it not be a good idea to make it possible somehow so you can convert Buses from CBS2010 to Omsi2011
lately there is many good buses in CBS and if we could move they over to OMSI2011 it would be great

but probaly this is something that 3rd developers has to do but if there is ways t o make this easy for them
after all it benefice us all the more buses is avaible since everyone has their favorite buses they want to use.
(can also convert buses from vbus but the ones made in CBS is already higher graphic)

Also if possible dont forget a Bus-terminal i realy enjoy games
where there is a big busterminal with several buses parked
where you can walk and pick the bus you want.

say you have 10 buses installed in your game then you can choose from a menu from gamestart
what buses is to apear in bustation and where on the bustation each bus to stand
I find busterminals very fascinating since there is so many different buses on terminals.

So a Busdepot (Gargage) where buses can go on night, and a Busterminal where every passangers
can go to take all bus routes is a good idea.

This is 2 different things a Depot is where bus is when not in service
and Busterminal the Start/end point of a bus lining up to go to different routes


anyway i think third party Omsi routes will be availble over time

OH , and is good if you could walk around Inside the bus and then walk outside of the bus and freely walk around if you wish
(yes i know we will spend much off the time in the bus anyway but it gives more freedom to the game)

Also don't forget a emergency button you can press to Reset the bus (after a crash) and a button that let you return
instantly to the driver seat if any problem.

damage seen on the bus after Big-crash but there has to be a option to turn it off also

I am not informed about the CBS bus format. But please mind: graphic is not all - you also have to include the correct functions (scripts) for a perfect addon bus! And don't forget the sounds.

But I think a conversion tool could be a task for other developers after we have released our SDK.

Hi there ! May i know, is there will be one-floor buses or other MAN types - like NL202, SL202, SL200 etc. or there will be only SD buses ? Smile
