Heavy steering wheel G25? Empty
BeitragThema: Heavy steering wheel G25?   Heavy steering wheel G25? Icon_minitimeMo 3 Okt - 3:49

Hello all,

Has anyone on here with a G25 got the wheel to feel heavy? I can turn my wheel with one finger lightly with ease. I haven't turned the self centring option on as believe this is un-prototypical?

I have tried the suggestion of modding the engine_constfile bu changing the first [pnt] 50 line from 0 to 1, but all this does is make the wheel rumble a bit, but not change the weight. It is heavy handed when I am at a complete stop mind, but after 3-5mph this reverts to being extremely light.

I am on Windows 7 and the Logitech Control Centre config is set to default, I.E the top 3 sliders are at 100% and the single axis for dual control is off.

Any help is appreciated!

James.

exactly the same problem ere mate. when stationary its pretty realistic, how ever, when start rolling forward it becomes lighter then air. but if ur doing flat out its heavier again. odd. not like this in real life. :/

This is POWERSTEERING - so, its normal! The Bus steers much easier when rolling - the higher the speed, the harder to steer (dont know the words for it Wink )....

Yeah but when bus is in place (starting from bus station) it shouldn't be light too...it's normal to be light while you drive it
I have G27 same problem here, but it's not a big deal!!

I use G27 - when I am stopped, it is medium to turn. When I am driving slow, it's very easy. Then it goes harder and harder the faster I drive.

I mean when you are in the place (not moving, traffic lights), these buses don't have anything which will help steering expect D92...
Nevermind it's great simulator, one of the best for PC, so we can live with light steering Very Happy

yeah but when moving at low speed it still should have some resistance, not turn on full lock using one finger. trust me, ive had experience of driving these things in real life. and if the engine is off, it should be nigh on impossible to turn.

Ok, of course improvements are possible.

The basic idea was: The wheel has a high resistence at full stop. If you are driving slow, this resistence will reduce. If you get faster, a new centering force will increase.

Of course it is not possible with the G25/27 to simulate original forces - that's the reasons why you can't get this state of "impossible to turn". But I steared an SD202 and an O405, too, and I felt very small wheel forces during low speeds due to the servo system.

Some thing we could improve would be simulating driving without servo system. Ok, this is still missing in OMSI.
