This should be in the next update, since I'm sure there are plenty of people that want to build a map that goes under a mountain, or the terminus is inside or underground

I would like to see that too, since here in Toronto where I am from there is a lot of Station that are underground

Lawrence, ST Clair, and Don Mills are underground, every other station is either a building, or goes into a building

+1 to this,

I'm personally dying to make an underground or under a building terminal. This would be a tad easier if say the buildings had at least a black bottom, or we had a range of just black blocks, they'd make good dark roofs and such. But Emil's tunnel test spline looks really good, if there was a bump out/bus stop connection for it, I think that would suffice, at least for the time being for me.

Either way, I'd love to see some more options of terminals, I mean I've seen so many good open air ones, but some more variety would be nice.

Splines do not throw shadows, which is sad, 'cause the lightning in the tunnel (And below bridges) is not correct.

Might be possible, but thats quite a bit of use for dynamic lighting, and the fact that it never rains in the tunnel unless the sprinklers are activated

It is possible to make an underground parking or a tunnel. However, it'd need to be an object, not a spline, and also, because of stupid terrain editor you'd need to make it so it looks like it connects to the terrain and there isn't a huge hole next to it. Smile

Would it really be hard to make a shell like building/object to fit over a road object/spline thus for the time being faking an underground area/terminal? I know we cannot with the default tools, but perhaps someone could model a building to do this?

Yeah there also Eglinton and York Mills have stations underground too, I would love to be able to do this since many TTC stations are underground

I love the Toronto bus tunnels.

But in omsi, could this not be done already with custom objects? Surely this just requires someone to create tunnel/portal objects, as opposed to a change in the simulator itself? With clever texturing, you can bypass the need for changes to the simulator's lighting system.
I once saw a very nice U-Bahn route for BVE which looked stunning - the creator textured the tunnels in a way to 'fake' shadows, reflections, etc, and it looked very authentic.

Although with tunnels, there is the audio to consider. You can model tunnel objects but how would you make the echo sounds?
