Traffic Lights

What do I need to mess around with to make the traffic lights stay on longer and can I do it for specific ones?

You need to download the "inoffical" SDK for OMSI and look for the OMSIcrossing tool, from there you can change out the timing for the lights..It is required for you to know a tad bit about route editing before messing around with such files though...
