Any Null Zone / Sensitivity settings for controllers

Hi guys,

The sim is working great for me now, but I have one further problem;

- I am steering the bus using a Saitek Yoke (flight sim). Generally it works ok, but the one issue is that there is quite a large "null zone" on the X axis.....So when I steer, initially there is no activity as I start to turn the controller. Then (suddenly) the bus jerks sharply in that direction.

I was surprised to see that there doesn't appear to be any controller calibration settings for sensitivity / null zones, within the sim. (I have calibrated in Window Game Controller driver, but this cannot effect sensitivity or null zones).

Any clues on this - at present the bus is very hard to steer smoothly because of this issue.

Got the same probem using the xbox controller and it's a little to sensitive.

Yes, agree, I'd describe the 2 problems as;

1). Unwanted Null Zone in steering Axis.

2). Steering axis too sensitive once out of the null zone.

This happens with 2 sifferent controllers I've used (Saitek Yoke and 2 joysticks) so not controller specific.

Marcel, Ruediger - could we have some controller settings in an update for sensitivity and to adjust this null zone please?

how did you set it up...struggling setting my one up and need it set up to manage smooth acceleration!

I have the speed setup on the right trigger and the breaking on the left trigger of the xbox 360 controller and works just great

Try the bi-progressive setting, I noticed that helps for me. I'm using the longitech PS3 style controller.

I must admit I'd never tried the 'Bi' settings because I thought they were variations on the progressive settings which are no good for steering. but Bi-progressive made the steering perfect; no longer too sensitive at low speeds and the null zone appears to have gone.

No prob glad I could help!

I'm using a Xbox360 controller for windows, but this bi-progressive setting doesn't work for me.
It's exactly the same, very fast steering, I'm all over the road. Any sollutions?
With this setting it's steerable, but if I accidentally hit the knob too hard for some reasing, the bus flips over.
